We were all home for lunch today. Tuna and avocado on toast with salad was on the menu. I was keeping an eye on the meat simmering away for empanadas on the stove, so decided to make lunch for everyone.
We play a little game called guess what came from the garden. Today there were five things- mustard, rocket, cos lettuce, mint and italian parsley.
We also harvested our second cauliflower today which will end up in tomorrow's mac cheese. Yum!
And I didn't even have to water the back garden much today as my little helper toddled over and grabbed the watering can to do it. He's our neighbour's kid and probably about 2 years old. It's so adorable looking out the window and seeing him having fun in the garden. Just as long as he leaves the strawberries alone :-)
that's so cool how much you can get from your own little garden!
ReplyDeleteyeah it still excites me! And fun teaching my pommy, city-slicker flatmate about the plants. Like having a child in the house haha. How did your wee salad garden end up going?
ReplyDeleteHaha well... it didn't do too well. Braeden got too excited and ended up pulling out our chives and spring onions and the cats got to the lettuce. So we decided to end that and try do pot plants and flax type plants out the back to make it nicer to spend time outside in summer.
ReplyDeletehahaha that is funny. Flax type plants are cool. Will remind you of home :-)
